How it works

How our products work

A short, honest tour of what happens behind LAS News and LAS Converter.

LAS News

  1. Gather. The pipeline reads public RSS feeds from news publishers across Top stories, Entertainment, Sport, Games, Tech and Politics.
  2. Group. Reports about the same event are clustered into one story.
  3. Write. An AI language model writes an original summary in its own words from the gathered material.
  4. Check. Automated checks on length, copying and quotes run before publishing, and limits keep any one topic from flooding the site.
  5. Credit. Stories point back to the sources they draw on.
  6. Publish. The site rebuilds and publishes automatically every 30 minutes.

Automation summarises other people's reporting; it does not replace reporters on the ground. Read more in our detailed article and how to read automated news critically.

Eyewitness

Readers can submit first-hand reports through the Eyewitness tab on LAS News, adding a human perspective the pipeline cannot provide.

LAS Converter

  1. Choose your platform. Use the web app, or the Windows or Android app, from lasconverter.lasgconcept.com.
  2. Pick a task. Convert video, audio or images, download a Facebook video, generate subtitles, or transcribe speech in English, Pidgin, Yoruba or Hausa.
  3. Select quality. Free covers everyday conversions; Premium (₦1,500/month or ₦12,000/year) unlocks higher quality, batch and longer files.
  4. Download your result. Check it before you rely on it, especially transcripts.
